History of 3G
The radiotelephone service was first introduced in the US in 1940's and it meant connection of mobile users to fixed public network. By 1960's, a new system known as Improved Mobile Telephone Service was launched by Bell Systems. It brought many improvements in the field of mobile communication which included direct dialling and utilization of higher bandwidth.
The whole system used analog signals and was developed in late '60's and early '70's. A low power transmitter and receiver were installed in every “cells” which were smaller coverage areas of the larger “cellular” network.
